Club Operating Hours

The Thunderbird Model Railroad Club conducts member operating sessions every Tuesday evening. During these operating sessions members operate various equipment from old style steam locomotives to the modern equipment operated by today's major railroads. The second Tuesday of the month is open house when guests are invited to join us during the below listed times and watch as freight or passenger service leaves Phoenix yard, meanders through Skull Valley, Mogollon, Turnbow, Pine and then challenges the grade at Apache leading to Summit.

1st, 3rd, & 4th Tuesday each month: 7:00PM - 9:00PM

(Club member operations, work sessions, and business meetings)

2nd Tuesday of the month: 7:00PM - 9:00PM

(General operating session open to the Public)

AZ State Fair Operating Hours

Good things happen at the Arizona State Fair. The Thunderbird Model Railroad Club has continuous train operations during the Fair's operating hours. Located under the grandstands we open our windows so the public can watch as members operate trains in non-stop action. The Arizona State Fair, held in October/November, is open Wednesday thru Sunday, check AZ Fair website for more information.
